Buzzer’s Tour of Camden County

Hope you all had a GREAT Labor Day weekend! Sam and Buzzer were busy bees, beginning Buzzer’s Tour of Camden County, MO! This new project for them will take them to all corners of our great county and let them meet many great members of our first responder services, government agencies, businesses, organizations, residents, and visitors as they work to help everyone “BEE” Prepared for emergencies!!!

This weekend’s adventures began at Ha Ha Tonka State Park, where Buzzer and Sam maintained social distancing and met a number of visitors on their hike below the famous castle!

Their next stop was the Camdenton Memorial Lake Regional Airport. With the airshow coming up (and Buzzer’s love of airplanes!), they wanted to check the place out and find some great seats!

The next stop on their mini-tour took them to the Osage Beach City Park, where they found a serene place to sit and took pictures of the ball field! Places with large parking lots and a good place for ingress and egress are vital during large-scale emergencies!

They even dropped by the Osage Beach Police Department and City Hall for some photos! Thank you to the hard working police who serve the City of Osage Beach!

Finally, it was time for Sam and Buzzer to return to Camdenton. They had a blast on the first leg of Buzzer’s Tour of Camden County, MO. If you have suggestions for Sam and Buzzer of places they should visit and people they should meet, use our Contact page to let them know!

I became the Director of Camden County, MO Emergency Management Agency (EMA) in August 2021 after previously serving as the agency's Deputy Director for a year. As the Director, I manage the day-to-day operations of the EMA, work on the Local Emergency Operations Plan, manage the Facebook, Twitter, and website for the EMA, oversee the webpages for the Camden County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), provide oversight and run exercises for the Camden County, MO Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and work with the Camden County, MO Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES). I hold a general class amateur radio license, call sign KE0LMY. I am also the official "Bee Keeper" of our mascot, Buzzer the Bee, who wants you to BEE Prepared!!! I'm a certified CERT trainer and WebEOC trainer for the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency. I maintain an EXTENSIVE and ever-growing list of credentials and train vigorously with first responder agencies, other EMAs, and with anyone I believe will help me become a better, more well-rounded emergency management director.
