Renovations Almost Complete at the EMA

The process of renovating the Camden County EMA has almost come to an end! With over a year of hard work invested, Director Ron Gentry is on the final stage: the restrooms!

Ron’s choices for the tile, sink, and sink base were a great upgrade from the previous fixtures and finishes. The choices all leaned toward easy cleaning and sterilization during the pandemic.

The Men’s Room continues:

Final touches and the final result:

Ron has completely shelled the Ladies’ Room, taking it back to the studs, including the ceiling.

The white pipe you see running through the wall carries water to the kitchenette he installed earlier this year. If you have ever had to work in an emergency operations center, you know it means long hours, not leaving to eat or rest, and the creature comforts are as precious as gold. Having a nice facility makes life more bearable while our responders, staff, and volunteers work to help others during large-scale emergencies or disasters.

The Ladies’ Room begins:

We will do a full photo tour of the facility once Ron has completed the restroom project, and try to include before and after photos if we can find them!

We are so grateful to Ron for his hard work, effort, and thoughtfulness when it comes to taking care of the staff and volunteers here at the EMA!

Stay tuned for more updates!
