Updates for Non-Facebook or Twitter Users

Hello, all!

While it’s easy to use social media to keep in contact with people on a day-to-day basis, we want to make sure our followers and those who don’t use Facebook or Twitter receive updates from us!

We have two new pages here on our website, one for hazardous material disposal information and one for monthly storm siren testing information. We have received numerous calls in regards to these two topics in the past three months, so we went and found resources about both and gave that information its own space here on our site!

The renovations are SO close to completion! Ron’s goal is to have them finished by the Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting tomorrow, November 6, at 11 am. He is on track to meet that goal!

Our Weekly COVID-19 Conference Calls continue on Thursdays at 2 pm. You can check our COVID-19 page for updates. We also post a daily area map on that page showing the ACTIVE number of cases in and around our region.

Our ARES and CERT groups each have a page here, while CERT also has its own website.

All LEPC information is posted publicly on numerous pages here on our site.

We have updated our Nixle page with more information on our county’s emergency alert system, as well as the proper frequency for your NOAA Weather Radio.

We have added an In the News page, where we store links to stories regarding the EMA and other emergency preparedness articles relating to Camden County.

We have continued with our training and exercises throughout the month of October, including a virtual HSEEP tabletop on October 14th and IPPW on October 29th.

Sam has also continued with her participation in the 26th Leadership Camden County Class! You can follow her adventures on our blog!

Thank you all for following our efforts to keep you all up-to-date on what we do here at the EMA! If you ever need anything, have any questions, or come up with suggestions on how we can serve you better, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 573-346-7108!

I became the Director of Camden County, MO Emergency Management Agency (EMA) in August 2021 after previously serving as the agency's Deputy Director for a year. As the Director, I manage the day-to-day operations of the EMA, work on the Local Emergency Operations Plan, manage the Facebook, Twitter, and website for the EMA, oversee the webpages for the Camden County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), provide oversight and run exercises for the Camden County, MO Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and work with the Camden County, MO Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES). I hold a general class amateur radio license, call sign KE0LMY. I am also the official "Bee Keeper" of our mascot, Buzzer the Bee, who wants you to BEE Prepared!!! I'm a certified CERT trainer and WebEOC trainer for the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency. I maintain an EXTENSIVE and ever-growing list of credentials and train vigorously with first responder agencies, other EMAs, and with anyone I believe will help me become a better, more well-rounded emergency management director.
