Partnerships at Work!

Greetings, all!

Our renewed partnerships are already hard at work!

On Tuesday, January 4, EMD Sam Henley attended a meeting at the Sunrise Beach Co-Mo Electric Cooperative office with Jason Culp, Co-Mo’s Environment, Health, and Safety Manager. Jason reached out to our office with concerns about protecting the employees and, potentially, customers at their locations in case of large-scale emergencies as part of the emergency action plan review he is conducting.

The morning consisted of a great discussion of resources widely available on our website, ready.gov, and sema.dps.mo.gov, plans for where and how to best try to protect everyone from a variety of possible hazards from severe storms to tornadoes to earthquakes. After the discussion, Jason and Sam completed walk-throughs of the Sunrise Beach facility and also the Laurie facility. Mitigation efforts go a long way in protecting people, property, and the environment BEFORE an emergency happens!

If you need assistance with your emergency action plan review, a walk-through of your site, or don’t know where to even start, give the Camden County Emergency Management Agency a call and schedule a meeting with us (IT’S FREE!)! We’re happy to help!

Thank you to our partners at Co-Mo Electric for inviting us to a seat at their table and thank you for committing to help us in the Emergency Operations Center!
